UA alumnae Pauline Mujawamariya is a program manager for the African Innovation Foundation in Zurich, Switzerland. During her time at the UA and as an Honors College student, Mujawamariya was deeply invested in international development.
After her time at the UA, Mujawamariya went on to work Paris with the United Nations and in Geneva with the World Health Organization. She is currently supporting efforts that focus on poverty, social justice and sustainable development in Africa.
Another graduate, Bruce Burke completed his honors thesis on romantic poetry then went on to work with the Arizona Law Review and serve on the Tucson Unified School District's board. He now serves on the board of the Marshall Foundation.
Having arrived before the Honors College had been established as a UA college, Burke was one of those people who was instrumental to helping build the honors community at the UA. As his profile notes, Burke believes his UA experience and involvement with the honors program reinforced his belief that "universal, high-quality education is fundamental to society."
