2018 Sports Nutrition Conference: 'Fueling Practice and Play'
Join dietitians, coaches, researchers, athletes, and educators at the University of Arizona's Tucson campus for a unique opportunity to dive into the growing field of sports nutrition.
The 2018 Sports Nutrition Conference will balance cutting-edge research with hands-on workshops on topics, ranging from the role of body composition in athletic performance to spotting and treating eating disorders, to meal planning strategies for athletes. Conference speakers include U.S. Olympic Committee Senior Sport Dietitian Alicia Kendig, Monica Laudermilk and Amanda Carlson-Phillips, researchers with human performance company EXOS, and Victory Program Director Riley Nickols, among others.
In addition to its prestigious speakers, the daylong conference will feature two breakout sessions that offer participants hands-on learning experiences in the kitchen, weight room, and more. Breakout session options include a smoothie workshop in which participants will prepare their own smoothies for pre-workout and post-workout situations; a tour of the Lowell-Stevens Football Facility; and a workshop that dives into the various methods of measuring lean and fat body mass.
