Sen. Barry Goldwater Photography Presentation

When: March 21, 2020 11:00am

Discover Sen. Barry M. Goldwater's photography, meet fellow University of Arizona alumni from the Phoenix area and help journalism students at the same time. The UA Journalism Advisory Council, on behalf of the School of Journalism, will host a lunch and presentation of Goldwater's photos by Arizona Highways Editor Robert Stieve.

Goldwater, who died in 1998, was a longtime U.S. senator from Arizona and one-time presidential candidate. He spent a lifetime carrying a camera, and his favorite subjects were ancient cultures of Arizona and the state's incredible landscapes.

The Q&A will feature Stieve, Arizona Highways photo editor Jeff Kida and Daniel Swadener of Tempe, an art promoter and collector who is working with Alison Goldwater Ross to create an exhibition of her grandfather's photography in Wisconsin.

Carol Schwalbe, director of the School of Journalism, will introduce the event.

Proceeds will help benefit student reporting projects and travel.
