Stress is usually triggered by the perception that we are threatened or at risk for failure, loss or some other bad thing. While it is healthy to take steps to manage our stress, we can also use stress to identify perceptions that are unhealthy or dysfunctional, take steps to change them and ultimately remove the threat and the stress it creates.
