The subject of the 2012 Summer Lecture Series put on by the University of Arizona Division for Late Medieval and Reformation Studies, together with St. Philip’s in the Hills Episcopal Church, is voices advocating peace in the war-torn 16th and 17th centuries. Despite recurrent violence, often parading in the guise of religious affirmation, a few individuals ventured to express their own skepticism toward war as an acceptable undertaking for people of faith. The series will take place four consecutive Sundays beginning July 29 and ending Aug. 19.
