Brazilian Higher Education: Study in Brazil

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 - 2:00pm to 3:15pm

Brazil is increasing its influence in the world, making it an important player in higher education on the world scene in South America today. While many students have come to study in the United States from Brazil, relatively few American students seek to study abroad in Brazil. Brazil has a large number of international students from South America and from Lusophone Africa, but has yet to draw non-Portuguese, non-Spanish speaking students in great numbers. As China is on the rise, more and more students are going to Brazil with fluent Portuguese to study in Brazilian universities. This presentation by the Brazil Science Without Borders students focuses on different aspects of the Brazilian Higher Education system and will provide perspectives on academic life, student life and student exchange at Brazilian universities. There will be time for questions and a representative from the University of Arizona Study Abroad office will also be on hand to discuss any opportunities for study abroad or faculty exchange in Brazil.
