Opening Reception for 'Northern Triangle' and 'Resilient Voices: The Art of David Tineo'

When: February 02, 2017 4:00pm

Please join us and the artists of "Northern Triangle" and "Resilient Voices: The Art of David Tineo" in celebration of their openings. Both exhibitions focus on the U.S./Mexico border, each through its own distinct lens, creating two dialogues within one gallery space. Northern Triangle, by the Texas-based Borderland Collective, is an installation exhibition that focuses on the unaccompanied children crossing the border from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras (the Northern Triangle). Resilient Voices, by Tucson artist David Tineo, draws its inspiration from the spiritual resilience that is required when living in a border town, in between two worlds as it were. Learn more about Northern Triangle and Resilient Voices: The Art of David Tineo on our website.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. A $10 suggested donation to benefit Museum exhibitions and programs is encouraged. Openings are always free for Museum members, students, UA faculty and staff, and those with a military or tribal ID.

This event is graciously supported by Chicanos por la Causa, The University of Arizona Department of Mexican American Studies, and The University of Arizona Department of Latin American Studies.
