2017 SBIR/STTR Arizona Regional Summit

When: March 23, 2017 8:00am to March 24, 2017 12:00pm

Is your tech company a candidate for federal R&D funding through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) SBIR/STTR programs? The two programs award over $2.6 billion in high risk R&D funding annually to qualified small businesses. The process is complex but the impact of receiving millions in non-dilutive funding is worth the effort! SBIR and STTR soften the access to capital barriers, and through connecting small firms with key institutions and organizations within state and regional Innovation Ecosystems, technologist can more quickly and efficiently diffuse their innovations.

Get the help you need to plan your strategies, build your teams and have success.

Attend this two-day event to learn from those who have been through the process and hear directly from representatives of agencies DARPA, Air Force, Navy and NASA.

Learn
Day One: March 23

Small businesses as well as university faculty and researchers will learn about federal SBIR and STTR programs from representatives from Federal agencies, prime companies and small businesses that have had success in such collaborations. Winning awards in these highly competitive federal programs requires strategic proposals and a thorough understanding of funding agency goals. Representatives from various agencies will be in attendance, including DARPA, Air Force and NASA. Take the time to learn about local resources available to support your proposal.

Day Two: March 24

Attend specific training sessions while you wait for your one-on-one meeting or to meet your current needs: Getting started on SAM; Introduction to Proposal Writing; What is a Quad Chart anyway; Resources for next steps; Preparing for a Commercialization Plan.

Experience
Day 2: March 24

Experience individual meetings with the program representatives to determine how your technology or research fits a need. Attendees to day one have the opportunity to apply for a one-on-one meeting with representatives from agencies and large prime companies to take place on day two. While slots are limited and not every applicant may be granted a meeting, you must attend day one to be eligible to request one of these exclusive one-on-one opportunities.

Connect
Day 1 and Day 2:

Connect to the resources available to support you through the process. A showcase of SBIR/STTR programs and exhibitors will include, but not be limited to, small business consultants, grant writers and reviewers, legal resources, accounting services and workforce development providers.
