The Department of Campus Recreation at the University of Arizona will hold a Demolition Day to kick off its new locker room renovation. Highlights of the summer-long renovation include new "all gender" restrooms (cabanas), multi-purpose lounging areas, and more accessible and adaptable spaces. Demolition Day invites students, alumni, faculty/staff, and the local community to come out to the Rec's front entrance to take a swing at the original lockers that have remained unchanged for 27 years.
This event is free for UA students as one of the stress-relieving opportunities offered during UA's Finals Survival Week. UA faculty/staff, alumni and the surrounding Tucson community are invited to participate with a $5 suggested donation. All donations will go toward the UA Campus Recreation Capital Campaign to help support the renovation. The overall goal of the locker room renovation is to create a more welcoming and open environment for students, employees and families in the surrounding UA community.
