National retailer Target has awarded a $5,000 corporate grant to a new University of Arizona program focused on increasing retention and graduation rates of Asian American and Pacific Islander students.
The program – Engagement, Diversity, Growth, and Excellence,. or EDGE – will build relationships with first-year students to help them transition socially and academically into the UA community.
The popular NPR program will join the KUAZ radio weekday lineup beginning Monday.
While the UA must reduce its fiscal year 2009 budget by $19.6 million, it has received a $170 million allocation for construction and building renewal.
