UA Economists Forecast Slow but Steady Growth
During the annual Economic Outlook Luncheon, UA economists predicted continued growth in the coming year. "Tucson is looking good. We've added over 6,000 jobs and employment growth rate is around 1.5 percent, which is just below the national average of 1.8 percent," said George Hammond, associate director and research professor of economic and business research at the Eller College of Management. "The probability for recession in a year or two is very low," said Marshall Vest, director of Eller's Economic and Business Research Center. "The economy is growing and healing, and should expand for the next several years."
