Festival Highlights Distinctions in Native American Art
Feb. 25, 2013
About 200 Native American artists attended the 20th annual Southwest Indian Art Fair Feb. 23-24. Artists presented their pottery, handmade baskets, carvings, jewelry, textiles and other works of art in what is one of the most intimate festivals of its kind in the U.S. The fair began in 1993 with a focus on pottery and has grow to become the Arizona State Museum annual spotlight event and now includes a broad range of artwork along with educational and cultural celebrations.
