USS Arizona Mall Memorial to Host Pearl Harbor Remembrance

TUCSON, Ariz. — A half-hour ceremony on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, which propelled the U.S. into World War II, will be held Thursday morning. In the attack, 2,403 Americans were killed and 1,778 wounded.

Of those killed, 1,177 were aboard the USS Arizona battleship, and their names are inscribed on individual medallions as part of the USS Arizona Mall Memorial. The memorial, located in the heart of the University of Arizona campus, was dedicated last December.
