Alternative Spring Break for Newman Center Students

Several UA students are choosing to spend their Spring Break in the mountains of central Arizona this year.

Specifically, they'll be on the San Carlos Apache Reservation _ working. The Newman Center, just off campus, is organizing an alternative spring break for the students, March 11-18. Rev. Albert Felice-Pace (pron: PAH-chay), the director of the center, says the students will help out in local classrooms, do some landscaping, paint, and strip and varnish doors.

Besides helping out a community that has scarce resources for such projects, the students come away with a rare experience of living with another culture in one of the most scenic parts of the state. Contact: Rev. Albert Felice-Pace, Newman Center, 327-6662.
