Arizona Softball Selected to Host NCAA Regional
Arizona is making its 26th consecutive appearance in the NCAAs, dating to 1987, head coach Mike Candrea's second year in Tucson. Candrea has won 23 Regionals and eight national championships.

The University of Arizona will host an NCAA Softball Championships Regional on May 18-20 at Rita Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium. Every game will be broadcast by ESPNU and ESPN3.com.

Teams in the region include at-large selection from the Western Athletic Conference, at-large selection from the ACC Notre Dame, Summit League champion North Dakota State and Arizona, an at-large selection. Arizona is the lone national seed in the region, at No. 13 overall.

Game times Friday feature Hawaii vs. Notre Dame at 2:30 p.m. PDT, followed by North Dakota State vs. Arizona at 5 p.m.

The winners will meet Saturday in game three at 3 p.m. followed by game four featuring Friday's losers at 5:30 p.m. PDT. The loser of game three and winner of game four play at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Sunday's regional championship begins at 2:30 p.m. with the if necessary game at 5 p.m. PDT. Arizona is making its 26th consecutive appearance in the NCAAs, dating to 1987, head coach Mike Candrea's second year in Tucson. Candrea has won 23 regionals and eight national championships.

Arizona has been an initial-rounds host 16 times, and Super Regionals six times. If the bracket holds up as seeded the Cats would head to Norman, Okla. to face fourth-seeded Oklahoma for Super Regionals.

Season ticket holders have until 3 p.m. on May 14to purchase their seats, if available, and to make any seating request. Ticket prices are as follows: $27 and $21 for all sessions for reserved and general admission, respectively. Single game prices are $10 for reserved seating and $8 for general admission.
