University of Arizona women’s golfer Mary Jacobs finished in a tie for seventh place Friday at the World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand.

Jacobs, a senior-to-be from Godfrey, Ill., shot a three-over-par 75 Friday to move up one slot in the final standings with a four-round total of 305 (+16). She was one of two U.S. players to finish in the event’s top-10 places.

Jacobs and her U.S. teammates earned a bronze medal courtesy of a third place team finish. The U.S. women posted a 72-hole total of 603, as three strokes separated the medalists. Mexico won the event at 601, while Ireland carded a 602.

The World University Games competition was held at the Water Mill Golf & Gardens Course, a par-72 layout.
