More than 100 physicians affiliated with the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center (AHSC) are listed in the 2003-2004 "Best Doctors in America" database, which includes 35,000 physicians in more than 40 specialties and 400 subspecialties of medicine. These represent just 4 percent of U.S. doctors.

The list is based on a biennial survey of tens of thousands of leading specialists worldwide asking whom they would seek out for treatment in their specialty. For more information, contact Best Doctors at 1-800-675-1199 or see the Best Doctors website at www.bestdoctors.com.

The 2003-2004 list, released last week, includes AHSC doctors in 31 medical specialties.

AHSC includes the University Medical Center (UMC,), The University Physicians Inc. (UPI) and the University of Arizona College of Medicine, as well as several Centers of Excellence and other entities.

"Tucson Lifestyle" magazine plans a June issue on Tucson physicians included in the Best Doctors database.
