Gold Well Workplace

March 23, 2000

The Wellness Council of American has recently designated the University of Arizona as a recipient of the Gold Well Workplace Award.

The Well Workplace Award is a national recognition program of WELCO, which rewards quality and excellence in worksite wellness services. The UA is the largest institution of higher education to achieve this award.

A national review committee evaluated benefits and collaborative programs and services offered through Human Resources, UA Life & Work Connections, Rick Management, Campus Health and Campus Recreation. The University also was recognized for the strength of partnerships with these units and collaborations with community services off campus. The committee commended innovative features of UA Life & Work Connections, particularly as the unit addresses whole-person wellness through the integration of worksite wellness, child and elder care services and employee assistance counseling.
