Fourteen years after cutting the nets down in Indianapolis, Jason Terry is a champion again as his Dallas Mavericks won the 2011 NBA championship.
Terry, a Wildcat standout who helped Arizona to the 1997 national championship, was key in the game six clincher, totaling 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting in Dallas' 105-95 win over Miami.
The Mavericks won the series four games to two with wins in the last three straight.
Terry becomes the sixth Arizona Wildcat to win an NBA Championship ring. Those six players have won a total of 13 titles: Steve Kerr, 5; Jud Buechler, 3; Luke Walton, 2; Brian Williams, 1; Sean Elliott, 1; and Terry.
The University of Arizona's Mike Bibby also made a 2011 NBA Finals appearance with the Miami Heat, meaning Arizona alums have made 17 NBA Finals appearances in the last 16 seasons. Those players have won a total of 12 NBA championship rings.
Terry, who previously made an NBA Finals appearance with Dallas in 2006, averaged 18.0 points per game and shot 49.4 percent from the field in the six-game series.
