Sonoran English Teachers Train at UA

July 28, 2000

A team of English instructors from Sonora recently spent a week this summer at the Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) for an intensive teacher development program. SOCOADA, a professional cooperative of agribusiness, energy, manufacturing, and research and development interests in the Altar district of Sonora, sponsored the visit.

SOCOADA has worked with CESL on an English as a Foreign Language Program in Caborca since 1993. SOCOADA instructors teach English to coop members and interested Caborca residents. CESL Assistant Director Sarah Kim and lecturer Elizabeth Templin organized the program, which includes a variety of creative teaching methods.
