Staff Advisory Council Passes New Bylaw

The Staff Advisory Council changed a bylaw at its May 2 meeting in order for the past president to remain on the SAC Executive Board for one year as an advisory to the new president and board on various SAC matters.

SAC corresponding secretary Karen Stanley proposed the motion, which was unanimously approved by the quorum present. SAC President Jack Roberts' term ends Friday, June 30. A list of officers was presented at this meeting and will be voted into office at the June meeting.

President Roberts says this change is important to provide continuity and history as the new Executive Board readies itself to represent classified staff on a wide range of issues.

SAC meetings are open to the public. The council holds its general meetings The first Tuesday of each month at 3 p.m. in the Swede Johnson Building, 111 N. Cherry, Room 205. The next meeting will be Tuesday, June 6.
