The University of Arizona Astronomy Club continues its monthly star parties held the first Saturday of the month at the US Forest Service Coronado National Forest's Sabino Canyon.
During the star parties, the audience has the opportunity to see stars, nebulae, galaxies and clusters plus any planets that are visible.
The star parties include telescope viewing, constellation mapping and an introduction to the programs offered at the Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter.
UA astronomy students along with mentor Don McCarthy, UA astronomy professor and director of Astronomy Camp, share their interest and knowledge with the public for a fun, educational and exciting evening.
Programs start about half an hour after sunset (see approximate times for each month) and last about two hours.
The program is weather dependent - if it's clear, the program is on.
No reservations are required and the cost is free though donations to the Astronomy Club are accepted.
