Wildcats Well Represented at T&F Olympic Trials
The U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials will take place from June 21 to July 1 in Eugene, Ore.

The University of Arizona men's and women's track and field program will have current student-athletes, alumni and volunteer assistant coaches competing at the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore.

The hammer throw portion of the meet will take place in Beaverton, Ore. at the Nike World Headquarters. The opening ceremony and official start of the meet is on June 22, and the final day of competition is July 1. June 26-27 are "rest days" and will have no competition taking place.

On the women's side, senior Taylor Bush will compete in the women's hammer throw competition on June 21. The preliminary round and the final will both take place on the same day.

In the women's 10K, junior Jen Bergman has a pending mark, if she qualifies, she will run on June 22 at 7:20 p.m. MST. Alumna LaTisha Holden has a pending mark for the first round of 100-meter hurdles on June 22 at 5:40 p.m. On June 23, the semifinal will take place at 3:15 p.m. and the final of the event will start at 5:45 p.m.

Junior Georganne Moline will run in the preliminary round of the 400-meter hurdles on June 28 at 5:30 p.m. The semifinal is on June 29 at 3:20 and the final is at 4:02 on July 1.

Volunteer assistant coach Jill Camarena-Williams, junior Alyssa Hasslen and sophomore Baillie Gibson are all set to compete in the women's shot put. The preliminary round is at 5:40 p.m. on June 28 and the final is on June 29 at 3:30 p.m.

Gibson also has a pending mark in in the discus competition. The preliminary round is on June 22 at 2:20 p.m. while the final is on June 24 at 3:05 p.m.

For the men, junior Nick Ross will jump in the preliminary round of the men's high jump on June 23 at 4:20 p.m. The finals are set to take place on June 25 at 5:50 p.m.

Alumnus Nick Mossberg has a pending mark to compete in the men's pole vault, the preliminary round is on June 25 at 5:30 p.m. The men's pole vault final is on June 28 at 5:05 p.m.

Alumnus Zack Lloyd is set to compete in the men's shot put on June 23 at 3 p.m. in the preliminary round. The final of the shot put is on June 24 at 3:30 p.m.

Freshman Jovon Cunningham has a pending mark in the men's triple jump; the preliminary round is set for 4:30 p.m. on June 28. The final for that event is at 4:40 p.m. on June 30.

Volunteer assistant coach Bernard Lagat will run in the preliminary round of the men's 5,000m meters on June 25 at 7 p.m. The final for the 5K is at 7:38 p.m. on June 28.

Junior Julie Labonté will compete in the Canadian Olympic Trials while sophomore Lawi Lalang and senior Stephen Sambu will compete in the Kenyan Olympic Trials.

The Mexican Olympic Team is selected by a committee, and junior Edgar Rivera-Morales will certainly be considered for a spot on the team.
