CAPLA Lecture Series – 'Sustainable Building in Emerging Economies'

Join us for a special guest lecture with Avis Devine, Ph.D., from York University, in Toronto, Canada.

Devine's research interests include sustainable and energy efficient real estate, commercial real estate, multifamily housing and emerging markets. Her body of research largely focuses on the financial impacts of sustainability and energy efficiency on real estate. Her research garners much industry support and she has won several research awards, most recently the 2016 Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Award for "Best Paper on Sustainability."

Her work has been featured in The Globe and Mail, The Financial Post, The Business Mirror, Commercial Property Executive and Business in Vancouver, among others. In addition to authoring a book chapter on energy-efficient commercial real estate, Devine has several sustainable real estate projects in advanced stages. She holds a B.S. from Westminster College, an M.B.A. from Duquesne University, and a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Cincinnati.
