Summer Science Saturday at LPL: Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite

Free science FUN for the entire family! Activities for younger kids – magnets, comet making, volcanoes, Physics Factory, rockets, planispheres, and more! High school students can also participate in the Spaceship Landing contest – test your spaceship to see if you can land your "egg" payload on a "planet." Spaceship activity begins promptly at 11 a.m., with construction completed by noon, and launch at 12:30 p.m. Afternoon lectures by LPL researchers: "Exploring the Solar System" (1 p.m. Professor Alfred McEwen); "Uranus, the Planet that Woke Up" (2 p.m. Dr. Michael Sussman, postdoctoral research associate); "Exoplanets, Exploration, Discovery and Understanding" (3 p.m. Robert Zellem, PTYS graduate student).
