InnovateUA brings TED to campus with a TEDxLive event, streaming talks from TED2017 in Vancouver, BC. Come explore a day of ideas worth sharing.
A week to explore the most pressing questions of our time and to imagine what our shared future might look like. From how we'll work to how we'll connect and interact to how we'll collectively thrive in a world full of change, we'll ask – and try to answer – the big questions of the moment.
Session 1: Connection, Community (9 a.m.) Location: Student Union Memorial Center, BookStore
What does it mean to build a community? These talks will delve into defining how to build a connection with the community you interact with and how being connected can change how our world will interact in the foreseeable future.
Session 2: Bugs and Bodies (11 a.m.) Location: Student Union Memorial Center, BookStore
From small bugs to the human body, changes are happening fast. Come to these talks to learn about how small species can help us learn about the bigger world, and how the human condition is changing quickly with technology.
Session 3: Mind, Meaning (2 p.m.) Location: Student Union Memorial Center, BookStore
The Human Mind is a huge collection of neurons constantly firing off to make sense of the world around us. But what does this mean in the present and what will it allow us to do in the future?
Session 4: Planet, Protection (4 p.m.) Location: Student Union Memorial Center, BookStore
Our big blue planet is always going through changes. What are these changes and how are we combatting them to make a brighter and healthier planet for the next generation? Delve into this with this session of talks.
Session 5: Our Robotic Overlords (6:30 p.m.) Location: UA Mall
It seems technology is inescapable today. How has nature shown us the beginning of the robotic revolution? What are the advances we hope to accomplish in the near future with the rise of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence?
Session 6: The Human Response (8:30 p.m.) Location: UA Mall
As technology becomes exponentially more intelligent what are the repercussions for society and how do we manage staying human in an increasingly digital world.
